Good Morning! Today we are going to talk about the process of bone development in the embryo.
There are two types of bone ossification.Endochondral ossification and Intramembranous ossification
In Endochondral ossification, a temporary hyaline cartilage model is used for the bone formation. When we were embryos our bones started out as hyaline cartilages models and after some time many processes happen and it eventually turns into bone. This is how most of our bones came to be.
In Intramembranous ossification, bone is developed from connective tissue called mesenchyme. The mandible, maxilla, clavicles, and most of the flat bones of the skull are formed by the intramembranous method.
That seems to be the bell guys. Thank you for listening and see you next week. Have a fun weekend everyone!
