At Valley Forge, the winter was not the coldest. There was snow and some rainfall here and there, but it was difficult to live through because there was a lack of clothing and shoes so the soldiers often were freezing.

George Washington's Quarters
George Washington's quarters at Valley Forge were very furnished. He had an office, bedroom, dining room for him and his aides, etc. He Would push his tables together every day at 2:00pm so he and his military aides could eat together.

One problem the soldiers faced at Valley Forge was the lack of clothing they had. During the winter, the soldiers were practically freezing because of how cold it was when they had little-to-no clothing. Shoes were very scarce.
