- 1526 Cadeza de Vaca was exploring Florida as a member of the Narvaez expedition . This got lost and was forced to build boats to sail back to mexico in 1528 .
- in 1540 Coronado and more than 1000 men went to search for the city in 1540. they found the grand canyon , the pacific Ocean and explored all the way into present day Kansas , but never found the city of gold .
- 1685 La salle arrived in Texas he was already a Famous French explorer. He convinced the length of the mississippi River. La salle set out with four ships to pirates along the way .
