4 of the kings officials came to Fobbing Essex,in hopes of collecting the new poll tax. The peasants refused to pay,They killed 3 of the officials, but one managed to flee. The escaped Official went to London to inform the king about the attack. The word spread and many collectors were attacked and killed in Essex and Kent. Hence the peasants revolt.

1381- Motivated by the preachings of John Ball, many peasants decided to bicker with the king. The provoked peasants madea journey all the way to London. They burned down houses andkilled many of the kings advisor’s, just for an encounter with King Richard II, who at the time was just 14years old.
