- ExpeditionWe are introduced to the main character, Victor, and his friend, Michael. We get to know that Victor is most excited to see Teresa, his crush. We also discover other things that went on during his summer break.

- Rising ActionVictor bumps into Teresa on his way out of his homeroom class. Victor then regrets saying this to Teresa instead of anything normal.

- ClimaxDuring this part of the story, Teresa tells Victor his French is good but the teacher knows that he cannot speak French. Victor is praying that the teacher does not expose him. This is the part of the story with the most tension.
- Falling ActionVictor agrees with meeting up with Teresa and helping her with her French. The teacher never said anything, nor did Victor.
- ResolutionAt the ending of the story, Victor was determined to learn French to tutor Teresa. As soon as school ended, he sprinted to the library to borrow French textbooks. He decided he is going to like seventh grade.
