- I am going to a journey. Don't think that I am the boy sitting out there. I am the one holding my breath as this little boy takes me inside his mouth. Wish me Luck! Here I go!
- I am in his mouth now as he is chewing me with his sharp and shiny teeth and starts breaking me in small particles. He has started releasing enzyme called amylase present in his saliva and breaking down carbohydrates. Now I am sliding in his esophagus!
- It was a long way down. Finally I am in his stomach where I am being broken down by chemical and mechanical digestion. It is very smooth in here due to it's smooth muscles. Here comes pepsin, an enzyme who is digesting proteins present in me.
- Here comes the wavy small intestine. Nutrients are getting absorbed from me. Pancreas are ejecting it's aids which are digesting carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Pancreas are also producing hormones to regulate blood sugar.
- Here comes the bile juice which is produced by Liver which is breaking down fats. Something is tickling me in small intestine. Oh yes! It is villi which will help to increase surface area for quick absorption.
- Finally I entered Large Intestine. It will absorb water and has bacteria. Rest of my particles will be moved out as indigestible material and is stored in rectum as feces until eliminated through anus. It was long and tough journey. Finally I am out of his body. I think I helped this boy alot!
