We weren't playing that.

Chapter 6
It's Boo Radley!
Scout and Jem find a hole in a tree where items have been hidden. They find many things like gum, coins, a ball of twine, a broken pocket watch, and even soap carvings of themselves. Summer started and Dill came back. One day, Jem proposed an idea to play as the Radley's.
The kids kept playing the game all summer long. Scout has a talk with Ms. Maudie. Ms. Maudie explains how some Baptists are worse than drunk people. One day as the kids are playing the Radley game, Atticus comes home. Atticus explains why it's bad to be playing that game in front of all the neighbors. Jem gets angry at Atticus and they stop playing the game.
The kids decide to peek inside the Radley's house. Mr. Radley sees them on his porch and fires his shotgun to scare them away. Jem loses his pants trying to getaway. The whole neighborhood is gathered outside to see what happened. Atticus finds Jem with no pants and questions him. Dill lies and says they were playing strip poker. Later that night Jem goes to get his pants, and he is frightened.
