The fall of the house of usher

- Roderick Usher sent a letter to his childhood friend the narrator to come visit him for a short period of time to help him overcome a sickness that runs in his family. Right when the narrator arrives at the entrance of the house, he was shocked by the look of the house but still procides to enter it.

- Come with me sir, to Roderick's room.
- Right when he entered, he was greeted by a servant, who took him into a large room to meet his friend. Finally, he met Roderick again after years, and he could tell by his pale face he was truly sick like he wrote in the letters.

- He began to tell him of his troubles. Then, he suddenly saw his sister walk past them but she didn't seem to notice the narrator which made him think feel uneasy. And they went over a plan to bury her once she passed.
- I wonder if she's okay, she looks like she's about to die.
- I have extremely sensitive senses. It has become absolutely horrid!

- That's weird but it's his sister so I won't say anything.
- We must wait a while, I think she is alive.
- His sister passed away a few days ago so they sealed her in the casket but left her sitting for a few days because Roderick believed she was not truly dead. For the next couple of days, he could not sleep while he was mourning her.

- I buried her alive... what a terrible brother I am!
- After a few nights he felt as if he had caught Roderick's illness. He tried to brush this off until he heard a thud and Roderick cried out that his sister was back. He did not believe this until the door opened, and there she stood, covered in blood from head to toe from trying to open the coffin!

- The narrator watched as she fell into Roderick's arms and died. He then died moments later from the chock, he then heard the house begin to rumble so he ran out as quickly as possible as he watched at the House of Usher fall to the ground.
