My name is Amira Mirza. I am an Iranian women that wakes up everyday and fears if my skin is showing or if my hair is out.
Our struggle was difficult! Militia making sure we were following dress code rules, laws placed on us, beaten, and more.
I knew us women could not be treated like this forever so i joined the revolution ! I was determined to be brave and stand up for ourselves. I was tired of being limited to things I could and cant do. I didn't have a boyfriend, I was always single, no kids, and we got mistreated on a daily.
I remember one night, I spent 2 days at the local jail just because I wore a bright red shirt. I was limited to my clothes! I COULD NOT TAKE THIS ANYMORE!
Us women always asked ourselves, where is our freedom? Why do they treat us like this?! Is someone in control of my own life? Joining the revolution was hard but I for sure knew it would put a word out there. With the revolution becoming a thing, we no longer asked ourselves these questions because we were aware of our power.
We realized how powerful us females were. Us females showing fear is what kept this from still continuing. If we stand up for ourselves this will be limited and reduced. Hard life was slowly going away because we finally realized our capabilities!
