- Johannes Kepler was a brilliant mathematician and scientist who discovered that the solar system’s planets follow elliptical paths, not circular paths like others from the past thought. Kepler inherited Tycho's post as Imperial Mathematician when Tycho died in 1601. Using the precise data that Tycho had collected, Kepler discovered that the orbit of Mars was an ellipse, this led to many more discoveries allowing advancement in how people thought. He was a key in the scientific revolution.
- As a child, Kepler was very prone to being sick and ill. He had small poxs which completely ruined his eye sight and he had very crippled hands. Through his physical disabilitys, his mind was very stong. He had a very good understanding of the planets and solar system, swell as numbers.
- How am I remembered by others?
- In terms of some of his mathematical achievements he helpedMathematicians understand how logarithms worked. They just saw that they seemed to give the right answers and didn't understand how. Kepler realized that if logarithms had no firm mathematical basis, his calculations might be discredited in the future. Kepler took it upon himself to prove how logarithms transform multiplications and divisions into additions and subtractions. Kepler’s proof allowed all mathematicians to use logarithms with no misgivings or miscalculations.s. In summary, Kepler had many accomplishments and will always be remembered.
