- Take your feet off my seat and shut your trap.
- Just as Ponyboy was walking home from the movie theaters, The Socs in their Corvair, trailing him; ready to jump him. 5 socs jump out of the Corvair and begin running to Ponyboy. "Need a haircut, Greaser?" says one of the socs while the other 4 socs have Ponyboy pinned to the ground to a second, one of the socs have a knife to Ponyboy's neck. Just as Ponyboy starts yelling for help, there were shouts and pounding of feet. The socs jumped back into their car and drive off.
- Chapter 3
- Just as Johhny and Ponyboy ran away to the park to cool off, the socs followed them, and they almost drowned Ponyboy but Johhny killed one of the socs and went to dally for help to run away again. Dally told him that he knew a church that no one knows about. Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church.
- Chapter 5
- In the drive-in movie theaters, cherry and Marica were sitting nowhere near their drunk boyfriends, bob and randy. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally sit behind them. While dally was trying to flirt with Cherry, she starts to get even madder with him. Dally gets bored and leaves, "Are you going to start on us too?" said Cherry to Johnny and Ponyboy. And then Cherry asks for their ages and starts to get to know each other, Dally comes back with coke for Cherry but she gets the coke on him and he leaves once again.
- Chapter 6
- Just as the group left the drive-in movie theaters, Ponyboy and Cherry were getting along with each other. But Cherry and Marica's boyfriends almost started a fight with the boys but Cherry stopped the fight. Johhny and Ponyboy slept in the lot and woke up at 2 in the morning, Ponyboy went home and Darry got mad at him for sleeping in the lot. Darry slapped Ponyboy and he ran away with Johnny.
- Johhny left Ponyboy at the church to buy food, and then when he got back they needed to cut their hair and bleach it to not fit the descriptions in the newspaper. The next day dally went to the church while Ponyboy and Johhny were sleeping, they all went to get food at a fast-food store. talked about Cherry being their spy.
- Just as they stopped talking about cherry being a spy for them, Johhny wanted to go back not caring what jail would do to him. They all went back to the church and saw a school bus, two teachers, and little kids crying, the church was on fire. One of the teachers said that some of the kids were inside so Ponyboy went to go save them. Johhny helped also but he got hurt in the back and Ponyboy got hit in the back from Dally trying to take out the fire on his arm.
