How could a sole propietorship exist in a monopolistic competitive industry?
This can happen becuse a sole propietor is business owner with no additional partners. All of the liabilities fall on him and he is responsible. He could have a product that is similar to other producers' and be in competition with them for the product like his.
So a sole proprietorship can exist in a monopolistic competitive industry but how can it exist in a perfectly competitive industry?
Yes a sole proprietorship can exist in a perfectly competitive market due to the fact that with pure competition there is no barriers to entry and all products are the same no matter the producer. An example would be farmers growing corn for a feed lot. The farmer is the sole proprietor and the corn is corn no matter the producer
