- Nice its trash day.
- Yeah man don't you know its trash day?
- Hey Monte whats up? Do you want to go get some food?
- Yeah, you're right I don't remember there ever being this much, how did this even happen?
- Monte, theres way too much trash here, I don't even know where to start.
- Hey monte look here it says that recycling was thought to be the solution to the worlds trash problem but we really only recycle 29 percent of our 389 million tons of garbage.
- So is it even doing the world any good?
- Who knows...
- Woah whats happening!?
- I think this recycling truck just picked us up
- Later at the local recycling center.
- It looks like this is all the trash that they picked up, just compacted
- What the heck are all these blocks doing here?
- Hey, look at this.
- This is crazy look at all these humans, I think they're separating all the trash that the other humans recycled
- It looks like they're recycling glass right now, lets go check that out.
- So I’m guessing they first start out by sorting the glass by color then cleaning it.
- Then they crush, melt and mold it into new shapes to new bottles and jars
- Then they ship the glass back out to shops to be used again.
- Sure lets go
- Hey Monte there goes another trash truck maybe theres some food for us there, lets go check that out
- Hey why did it stop?
- Hey, are you okay?
- Woah.
- Look
- So this is that landfill that all those humans always talk about…
- I had always heard about these, but I just thought it was a myth.
- They say 63 percent of our garbage ends up in these landfills…
- So they just keep dumping here and burying it over and over again? Do they even care that it could harm their water?
- So how are they going to fix this?
- The problem is, is that theres no easy fix to this, all of this is decades of build up, so there’s no easy fix to this epidemic.
- So what could the humans do to help our planet?
- The only real answer is for them to completely change their lifestyles, and hopefully counter act the damage thats already been done
