- Ben and Mark got hungry, so for snack they have  spaghetti and put it in the microwave to heat it up before they ate it.
- Ben, I am hungry. Do we have something to eat?
- "I am going to heat up this spaghetti in the microwave".
- Ben  and Mark ate the spaghetti and it was delicious, but he wondered how the microwave heated it up. The microwave uses radiation to heat up the food that you put into it. Radiation is the transfer of heat through space by electromagnetic radiation, this does not rely on contact between anything. The microwave uses this in order to heat up the food.
- It smells so delicious. For sure our tummy will be satisfied. 
- "This spaghetti is nice and warm, I wonder how the microwave heats it up."
- Ben's room is a lot warmer because of something called convection. Convection is the transfer of of heat from a liquid or a gas between spaces due to a difference of temperature. The hot air rises while the cold air sinks. Ben's ceiling also has insulation, which keeps some of the hot air at the top of the house and cold air falls to the bottom. This insulation could be considered a thermal insulator because it prevents heat from moving from one place to another.
- It's really getting cold here. Let's go  to my bedroom.
- Ben and Mark are  getting cold downstairs so they  decided to go upstairs  on Ben's room to see if it is any warmer. At the same time to get relaxed.
- "Why is it so much warmer here in your room? The temperature in your room is more warmer than downstairs.
- Maybe it's warmer in your bedroom. Let's go Ben.
- I will take off my jacket now, I am perspiring a lot.
