- Four Pillars? What are those?
- I think I can help!

- Coming into Carroll, I had no idea what the four pillars where
- The First Pillar is "Integrated Knowledge"
- Let me tell you!
- Integrated Knowledge?
- Carroll helped me understand the connection between school and life out side of campus
- Integrated knowledge connects, relates and unifies concepts in various situations. Which means we apply what we learn in school to outside of school
- Carroll's Library
- Which leads you to the second Pillar, Lifelong Skills
- Ohh, I get that! That makes it easy to go out into the "real world"
- Carroll helped me become adaptive, to help with changes in normal life
- Oh like: Creativity, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Communication, Collaboration, Information Management, Adaptability, Curiosity and Reflection
- Exactly These transferable skills that are essential to an individual's intellectual, physical, and emotional success regardless of occupational or life role.
- Lifelong skill go beyond specific knowledge or occupational areas.
- The third pillar is Enduring Values
- Man! I hope this kid gets that these pillars build off of each other!
- So what is the next pillar?
- These pillars seem to build off of each other.
- Carroll helped me understand the bigger picture than just my self
- This one is a bit confusing, it is the continuing usefulness or significance of records, based on the administrative, legal, fiscal, evidential, or historical information they contain, justifying their ongoing preservation.
- So basically, all the things you learned in college, you will hold important
- Wait! What does that mean, enduring values?!
- ohh, okay! So like 'continuing value', rather than 'permanent value'.
- Carroll helped me transition into my college life and now into my career life
- The fourth pillar is gateway experiences.
- basically, that your educational responsibility extends beyond the classroom into every aspect of your life.
- Lets just pretend I don't know what that means! what does that mean?
- okay, so preparing me for college life and on helping graduates make successful transitions into my first jobs, or graduate and professional schools.
- Glad to hear my eight year talk paid off! Wait?! How long do owls live?!
- I think there was something to those four pillar thing you were talking about!
