- Maya and her family are from Kazakhstan and had recently moved to America. After sometime, Maya and her brother Nurzhan join school. One day, Maya takes a permission slip for the annual SPring Fling. Her parents have been extrmemly protective of their children since moving from Kazakhstan She knows that her prents may say no; however deep down she has hope .
- Maya gets pulled out of class to get escorted to the principals's office. She learns that her brother has been in a fight with one of the other students and now suspened. Her fataher gets called and now Maya is alternating the principal's words to her father to try and save her brother.
- The other boy, Ossie Nishizono, was a little hurt (in russian)
- “The other boy, Ossie Nishizono, needed two stitches at the hospital.”
- Scene 1: Maya after gymnastics class is found in arms of an American boy by her one and only father. Seeing them all furious, Maya is now entirely sure that she has a less chance to be able to attend the Spring Fling.Scene 2: Maya's mom has suffered an injury and now she has to take care of her family and her mom's job.
