- Midnigth came and went, and I moved the candles closes to me, to give a better ligth for reading . But the ligth also fell on one of the darker coners of the room, and I saw an oval portrait of a beautiful young woman. I felt a wave of darkness in my body and turned the light away from the painting, leaving it in darkness again. I found the story of that painting in the book and started reading...
- A beautiful girl who has always been happy, she married out of love with a famous painter. She did not like her husband's paintings very much, as they took her away from him. However, one day. Her husband asked to paint a picture of his beloved wife, and she, as she loved him, accepted it. For days she posed for her husband to do the perfect painting, everyone who saw the painting being done praised ...
- With time, the beautiful woman became weak, the weeks passed and her husband did not notice. When he finally finished his masterpiece, he stared at her and screamed. Her greatest love had died, and now her soul was stuck in that oval painting forever.
