- The National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA) contributed largely to this change and it was founded by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, two prominent figures in the suffrage movement. Other prominent figures during this time that helped make this happen were Carrie Chapman Catt who guided NAWSA towards the end of the movement, Alice Paul, and Lucy Burns who preformed strikes.
- Who helped solve the problem
- Women started a suffrage movement in the 1800's that was based around allowing women to participate in voting. It took nearly 100 years but through sheer perseverance, and a foundation backing them, they managed to get the 19th amendment passed in 1920, which allowed for women to vote.
- What was done to solve the problems
- Poor working conditions were common; they consisted of long hours, low wages, and unsafe workplaces. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire is a problem that stemmed from no safety regulations.

- The Women's Trade Union League (WTUL) helped with safety conditions, The National Consumers League (NCL) helped with demanding better wages and conditions. Of course Woodrow Wilson can be seen as helping with this change but he did it for politics.
- Who helped solve the problem
- Through politics, Woodrow Wilson appointed a progressive to the supreme court to help with labor conditions, even to the point of supporting workers compensation, child labor laws, and eight hours workdays. The Triangle Shirtwaist fire caused a Women's Trade Union League was organized under the AFL, which led an uprising to protest the fire as a way to get safety regulations.
