- I woke up in my barn house everyday. I would sleep on the hay next to the horses.
- I would harvest my wheat by hand every time it was ready.
- I also picked cotton everyday when it was ready.
- Many of the kids would have gone to school, but I needed to stay home and work the farm to make money for my family.
- I didn't own much land. just enough for farming and a home for my mother, father, and sister. My dad is a white male, so he has full ownership of our land.
- Me and my dad would be able to vote sometimes, but whenever we got the chance, we would participate.
