- From the perspective of Stephen F. Austin, brining settlers to Texas was significant because it led to a constitution and helped colonize Texas. From the perspective of the settlers, Texas independence was significant because it let them settle in land that would benefit their lives and let them be able to own slaves.

From the US perspective, The Trail of Tears was significant because it helped the US move into land that they believed they were meant to live in.
