- Ralph is turning more to his savage side. We can see this when all he wants to do is hunt and kill a pig so he can redeem himself from the last encounter.
- Ralph no longer has the attention that he wants. This shows that he wants the power and to be obeyed. But Jack is mad that only him and Simon are doing all the work.
- After a while Ralph and Jack start to have disagreements. Jack is mad that only him, Simon and Ralph are the only ones doing work and the others are just playing.
- Jack is mad that the little kids are only swimming and helping for a couple minutes then leaving. And this shows human nature and how we only help when it benefits us and not always helping.
- Jack and Ralph cant stop arguing. They are both on different pages. One wants to hunt and kill pigs to have meat to eat. And the other wants that too but he sees that everybody needs to help build huts for shelter and wants everybody to contribute.
- We get to see more of Simon's personality and he is very kind and helpful he enjoys the best things around him and makes the best out of a hard situation.
