Tane and Tangaroa were very close, while their brothers went fishing Tane and Tangaroa stayed behind one day to swim in the nearby lake.
While they were swimming Tangaroa had an idea to swap destinies, Tane as God of the sea and Tangaroa as God of the forest, Tane thought nothing of it and immediately said yes After Tane agreed he realized that this could not go so well.

Tane and Tangaroa met up at the lake, maybe this was a bad idea Tangaroa... Tane said quietly. Yes I don't think we made a good choice, the ocean has no water and the forest is flooded!! Answered Tangaroa. Having decided to swap back they realised that they truly belong in there own spaces.
