- I have finally arrived in New York City. I am going to enroll in the university of my dreams, Columbia University

- I have to dissuade my parents as I have already planned my summer itinerary.I am looking forward to making acquaintances with other New Yorkers as well.
- It's very cold here...That's because i'm indoors...Whats the point of a holiday if you're just going to stay indoors.
- Its not really cold at all, but the temperature is still lower than in Singapore
- I am giving grandpa a salam. A ritual that makes me feel like an exhibit meant to demonstrate courtesy, gleaming proof of parenting skills.
- Abah, salam. Welcome to New York. We'll be staying at my place tonight...
- Your hands smell nice like moisturiser and not like you just scaled some fish .
- Ha Ha. We did just come from a very long flight, Hidayah.
- New York has changed me so much. From the way I dress, I speak and also my diet.
- Even though I am not fully aware of it, my cabinet has also changed a lot and I am starting to have a New York accent.I also have a diet that consists of mainly kebabs and salads, unlike the variety of food I used to have when I was back in Singapore.
