- A kid named Felton Reinstein who has never been a particularly good athlete has just hit puberty in his: sophomore year and has become very fast. He is wins the 600 yard race in gym and even beats the fast kids by 150 or so yards.
- BANG
- It's a mental health care facility. (293)
- Felton and his little brother Andrew who is a pianist. They are watching a video of their new neighbor Aleah playing the piano. Felton only says Uh huh but in the book he states that he god goosebumps watching her play.
- Its a beautiful place and she'll get a lot of help from psychiatrists but it really isn't a hospital. (293)
- Feltons mom Jerry starts to be very depressed and this changes a lot of her actions and just every day life in the Reinstein house hold. She starts staying in her room all day where she would either eat or sleep or read or watch tv all day everyday. But she only ever left her room to go to the bathroom.
- Felton's little brother Andrew has gone crazy ever since their mom Jerri stopped participating in their life. He had begun just digging through all the boxes in the house and making huge messes. His reason for this was because their dad had committed suicide when Felton was 5 and Jerri nor really anyone else in their family had. said anything about him. So he was trying to find anything he could. But this stopped Felton from being able to fall asleep till like 3am every morning.
- It is Felton's 16 birthday and his grandma has come to stay with them because his mom has to go to mental health facility due to her prior actions. He has had a great birthday so far having a surprise party from his friends and has spent some great family quality time. When explaining their grandma tries to sugar coat it a little but Jerri is straight up with her kids.
- When they dropped Jerri off at the air port she told Andrew and Felton about a diary that she had kept and where it was. They knew what it was because she had always told them to not look at it. When they got home they opened it up and all there was were some picture of cats. But as they flipped through the pages they found a picture of their dad. People had said that he never smiled, but he was in this. And on the back it said "He wasn't as bad as grandma says."
