- I'm very sorry miss but the tests that we ran came back positive for malaria, this is why you've been feeling so unwell even though you've been vaccinated. it is vector-borne disease that is biologically transmitted by insects such as mosquitoes that may have bitten you and injected parasites into your blood stream. in your case this probably occurred due to housing quality and unsanitary conditions, but also because of your gender and the fact that you're pregnant. unfortunately in your case it is very bad. the pain in your chest and difficulty breathing may be due to fluid building up in your lungs and you also have kidney failure . in order to have a chance at saving you and the babies you will have to be put in an induced coma. I'm very sorry.
- in order to get a diagnosis Stacey must have blood test and she need to be attached to a drip because of how dehydrated she is, but she is scared on needles. Bobathan is scared for Stacey but puts on a brave face to try and comfort her.
- insecticidal nets or indoor insecticidal spraying could have helped but with the initial transmission.
- is there nothing i could have done to help?
- Stacey now has a lot of pain in her chest and has difficulty breathing, she tells the doctors, but they come back to tell Bobathan that they cannot scan Stacey's chest because they do not have the funding. this is because they are in a third world country that doesn't have the right medical resources because they are a poorer country.

- I'm sorry sir, but your wife has passed away. only one of the babies survived, but they will have to stay in hospital for a while to be treated
- the doctor comes back to tell Stacey that s malaria. he explains what it is, and how it may have been transmitted, before explaining that the only treatment left to try and save as many live as possible, is to put Stacey in an induced coma. Stacey and Bobathan are both extremely shocked and are hoping for the best.
- Bobathan says his goodbyes to Stacey and she is put to sleep. Bobathan asked if there was anything he could have done to help and the doctor explains insecticidal nets and similar things would have helped to stop the transmission but its too late. this makes Bobathan feel guilty
- the next day the doctor comes to tell Bobathan that Stacey had passed away as well as one of the babies, but the one that did survive would need to stay for a few weeks, maybe even months to be monitored.
- a few months later when the baby was well enough to they got discharged. now Bobathan is left alone with his newborn baby in a foreign country. poor Bobathan!
