There were both green mice and white mice living in a forest.
In this forest there is a population of both green mice and white mice. The green mice can stay easily hidden because of their green color passed on to them from their genes.
Heritable Variation
Soon two owls appeared and began to tare the mice down.
Selection Pressure
In this environment, predation is making it difficult for the mice of both populations to survive.
Because of the green skin of the green mice, they are able to stay more hidden. However the white mice are more visible to the owl therefore they are more prone to predation.
Decent with Modification
The mice thought they would leave but they ended up staying and hunted them. To defend themselves the began scratching the owls, but most of the white mice population died and some of the green.
The two surviving green mice began to mate.
The owls continued hunting the mice from both populations. The 2 green mice were able to have 3 baby mice that survived.
The two surviving mice were able to reproduce and three of the four baby mice survived.
Overpopulation
The three mice survived maintaining a equal population of green mice in the forest.
