- Queen Jocasta and King Louis receive news that their son will kill his father and marry his mother. They receive this petrifying news from visiting the oracle.
- You will kill your father and marry your mother!
- After hearing such news they make the decision Oedipus needs to be killed. The give their baby boy to a herdsman to take care of the business for them. During this process the herdsman takes pity on the baby and gives him to a random stranger or is actually the messenger for the king.
- Years go bye and one day Oedipus is told by a drunk that the king and queen are not his birth parents. When this occurs in the story you see a shift in perspective and mood.

- From this statement on Oedipus loses control and becomes the man he is predicted to be...............
- During Oedipus' journey he kills a random stranger and doesn't care that he just did such a thing. That random stranger is his actual father.
