- Exposition- Montresor and Fortunato are embracing eachother as friends. Montresor though, is planning to kill Fortunato. Fortunato has no idea that these plans are being made due to intoxication.
- Climax
- Fortunato is spreading hurtfull rumors about Montresor. We have no way to kmow how Montresor found out about this. Montresor is know to be a grudge holder and this time to the extreme.
- Montresor has brought Fortunato the vaults where he is planning to kill him. Due to the lack of the intoxicatoion of Fortunato, Montiato gives him another drink. He does this to make it easier to kill him.
- Resolution
- Montresor has put Fortunato into the hole in the wall where he is going to build up the bricks. During this, Fortunato is again losing intoxication and understanding what is going on. He is very frightened.
- Montresor has started to put the bricks into place. At this point Fortunato is screaming for Montresor to stop but he will not budge. Momtresor has succeded in his revenge.
- Montresor's task is complete. He has finished off Forunato witha long suffering. Monteros has seeked his revenge and will no longer worry about rumors being spread about him.
