"Romeo, the love I bear thee can affordNo better term than this: thou art a villain."
"Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee Doth much excuse the appertaining rage To such a greeting."
"Good King of Cats, I want to take one of your nine lives."
"Hold, Tybalt! Good Mercutio!"
Tybalt tries to fight Romeo. However, Romeo has no interest in fighting him and wants to stay peaceful.
"A plague o' both your houses! They have made worms' meat of me. I have it, And soundly too. Your houses!"
Angered by this, Mercutio challenges Tybalt, who accepts, and they fight, to the dismay of Romeo and Benvolio.
"Alive in triumph—and Mercutio slain! Away to heaven, respective lenity, And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now."
Romeo tries to stop the fighting, only for Tybalt to reach under his arm and stab Mercutio.
"Let Romeo hence in haste, Else, when he’s found, that hour is his last. Bear hence this body and attend our will.
Mercutio is dead within minutes of being stabbed.
Filled with anger due to Mercutio's death, Romeo kills Tybalt as revenge.
