Storyboard Popis

This storyboard illustrates 4 of the precedents that George Washington implemented into presidential life which are still practiced by present-day presidents.

Text z Príbehu

  • Precedent 1: In the end, George Washington ended up appointing 38 judges to the federal court system. Presidents today continue to practice this precedent of appointing judges.Precedent 2: "Mr. President" was the title that George Washington established would be used for the president.
  • Precedent 1 2: Appointing Judges // Mr. President Title
  • Mr. President! Mr. President! What will you do about the unoccupied seats in the new Judicial Branch?
  • Hmmm...I've thought about this for a while now, and I was thinking of nominating or appointing candidates to fill these seats. Perhaps, future presidents could do the same as well.
  • Precedent 3: Washington was invited to many ceremonies to honor new buildings and ships which finished construction. He also celebrated holidays in public with others as well. This precedent carried onto the Presidents of today as they now attend these ceremonies and holidays as well.
  • Precedent 3: Ceremonial Purposes
  • Ladies gentlemen! May we celebrate the completion of this new building!
  • Precedent 4: Washington had the role of Commander Chief of the Military, which was the leader of the military. Even leading an army as the President during the Whiskey Rebellion. Although Presidents never quite lead armies into battles (only two have done so), they still have the title of Commander Chief of the Military.
  • Precedent 4: Commander in Chief of the Military
