In this scene, Gatsby felt as if he should take Nick with him on the way to their own plans to enjoy lunch together because he is trying to look as appealing as he can to Nick in hopes for invalidating all the rumors Nick has heard about him. Gatsby is nervous for he has favors and clarifications to give Nick, while Nick himself creates inferences on who and what the real Gatsby is. Forwardly, it is obvious that Gatsby lies about his past.
Chapter 5: For I Have the Richness of the World to Hand to You
In this scene, Jordan is explaining Nick the favor Gatsby wants Nick to do. Nick is absolutely flabbergasted by the fact that Gatsby wants him to invite Daisy for tea at his house just so Gatsby can reunite with Daisy once again. Jordan also explained the romantic fling Gatsby and Daisy had before Gatsby had to go to the war.
Chapter 6: Jay Gatz or James Gatsby?
A great moment in the story. In this scene, Gatsby and Daisy are finally reunited once again. At first, Gatsby felt embarrassed and panicked as if he's seen a ghost, while Daisy seemed to be delightful with the fact that Gatsby is right in front of her. As time passed, Nick decided to give them privacy and chose to leave them alone. Though, as soon as Nick walked in after his peaceful stroll, he took a look at Gatsby, and Gatsby's expressions glowed brightly enough that it could disintegrate the rainy weather. Gatsby was as radiant as the Sun.
Chapter 6: Repeat the Past Once More
In this scene, after the meeting Gatsby, Daisy, and Nick had at Nick's house, Gatsby brought them along to his. This scene is significant because Gatsby and Daisy's love started to finally rekindle at these exact moments. As Gatsby bestowed Daisy upon his treasures, he reponed Daisy's heart once again.
In this scene, this was the exact moment where James Gatsby found his chance to be the James Gatsby he has always wanted to be. As Dan Cody was out on his yacht, Jay Gatz came up to him and warned him about the danger that could happen to him and his yacht. As time played its role, Dan Cody and James Gatsby built a relationship that'll soon mold Gatsby to who he is now.
“Can’t repeat the past? Why, of course, you can!” In this scene, Gatsby is enraged by the fact that Daisy is not having fun in his party for Tom has her locked within his chains. Gatsby wants to Daisy to leave Tom and he seeks Nick for advice and for someone to rant to. Nick argues that Gatsby can't relieve the past (the old summer fling), but Gatsby argues otherwise.
