- This is the tree we chose for the First Annual Tarzan Jumping Contest. Meme won. And broke both arms.
- Everyone laughing except me, because I'm wearing the new dress pink and white with stripes, and new underclothes and new socks but the old saddles shoes I wear to school.

- Then he asked if I knew what day it was, and when I said i idnt, he said it was his birthday and would I please give him a birhday kiss. I though I would becuase he was old and just as I was about to pu my lips on his cheek, he grabs my face wih bot hands and kisses me hard on the mouh and doesn let go.

- One day I'll own my own house, but I wont forget who I am or where I came from. Passing bums will ask, Can I come in? I'll offer them the attic, ask them to stay, because I know how it if to be without a house.

- I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much. I write it down and Mango says Goodbye sometimes. She does not hold me with both arms. She sets me free.
