Before the French Revolution, society was structured on the relics of feudalism. It was also structured in a system known as the Estates System. Before, Bastille hadn't been stormed, the guillotine hadn't been invented or used, Napoleonic Europe hadn't spread, etc.
Moderate Stage
Storming of Bastille
The Moderate Phase of the French Revolution had so many factors in it that were each important in their own way. Here is when the Legislative Army is formed, which is important for obvious reasons. The Storming of Bastille was also here, which was important because it set off a series of events that led to the overthrow of King Louis XVI and the French Revolution.
Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror is when the public started being violent. The largest part of this stage is the beheading of Maximilien Robespierre with the newest and best technology : the guillotine. This tool ends up impacting the Revolution massively because it killed over 17,000 people.
Maximilien Robespierre's death
Here, fire and a BANG are used to represent the guillotine.
Reaction Stage
Formation of the Directory
This phase's biggest event is the formation of the Directory of France. This was written on November 2, 1795. It's important for the French Revolution because it protected people who had the idea of Revolution and supported them.
Napoleonic Europe
Napoleon I
.The spread of Napoleonic Europe was huge. This impacted largely because Napoleon's conquests cemented the spread of French revolutionary legislation to much of western Europe. The powers of the Roman Catholic church, guilds, and manorial aristocracy came under the gun.
