Mia and her family have been living in their car the past summer. Mia hasn't been to a school in 2 years. They moved from China, all the way to America in hopes of a job and money.
Climax
Mia's boss get mad at her and her family for letting immigrants stay in the motel rooms for free. They know how it feels to travel and not stay in a home at one place. They thought they could give in a little bit.
Falling Action
That's what you get
Mia's parents get an awesome job at a motel with (what they think is) a kindhearted, funny boss named Mr. Yao. Everyone is super happy. Mia gets to assist her parents at the front desk.
Resolution
Mia's boss finally finds out that the Tangs have been letting immigrants that have come to America, stay in the rooms for free. He doesn't understand their point of view. He becomes very angry and upset that they couldn't keep a promise to always tell the truth.
I don't remember seeing a paycheck in the computer for this room.
Mr. Yao somehow figures out a way to make the Tangs' paycheck shrink. That means they need to deal with things financially. The motel struggles with diversity and the building of community at the hotel.
Mr Yao.... There is a mistake on our bill for the month. Could you change that?
Mr. Yao looks deep in his heart and realizes that the Tangs have been through tricky and tough time. He gives them a boost. And a second chance. Hopefully this family has a better future.
*sigh*
Mr Yao, My family and I are really really sorry. It's been a struggle lately.....
