This trail will take us to Egypt where there is food.
Let's do it!
They grow up so fast.
Ahhh!
Don't hurt me!
The Patriarch Abraham made a covenant with God promising that if his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan, that one day, it would be his descendant’s Promised Land.Years later, a famine struck in Canaan. Abraham’s grandson, Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Israelites grew more numerous, the Pharaoh became mistrustful of them and their Monotheistic religion. So the Pharaoh enslaved them!!
As you wish.
Look what you've done! Leave! And never come back!!
Then, there in the pharaoh's palace awaited a boy with the name of Moses, an Israelite who lived with the pharaoh for many years until realizing his purpose with God. Moses wanted to leave this palace after he found that the pharaoh was using the Hebrew people as his slaves. When Moses asked the pharaoh for permission to leave the palace and lead the Hebrews out of Egypt, the pharaoh harshly rejected him and continued to make the Hebrews do all the labor.
What is this?
These are my commandments, you will take these and learn to obey them.
When the pharaoh refused to release the Hebrew people from slavery, there was a price to pay with God. The Egyptian people were faced with many challenges such as swarms of insects, illnesses that spread, and most of all the passover of death. Each day more punishments went by, and the last punishment finally arrived. That night the angle of death was to pass over and kill each firstborn son, but Moses told the Hebrews to put the blood of a lamb on their door, and it would spare their lives.
Hooray!
We've made it folks! This is our city now.
Then, after the final punishment passed over the Egyptian’s land, the Egyptian king demanded that the Hebrews leave his land and never come back. Once the Hebrews were demanded to leave, Moses led them to the Sinai Peninsula where the pharaoh could never mistreat them again. The Freedom of Hebrews is called Exodus and is remembered during the week of The Passover.
Later, after the Israelites left Egypt, they traveled to the land of Sinai Peninsula. At the peak of Mount Sinai Moses met with God and God gave him what we know as the Ten Commandments. These commandments were important because they were laws that were given to the Israelites so they could be guided on how to behave.
During the conquest of Canaan, according to the Hebrew Bible, Joshua led the Israelites to Canaan where they conquered the high-walled city of Jericho. Following the defeat of Jericho, the Israelites moved on to conquer other small kingdoms in the area.
