  • Michael is a student at UNE currently studying a bachelors degree of economics. He is an on campus student, and has an upcoming lecture to attend in person. He has always been unsure of what the online students are saying, but hes heard of the new app that the university is rolling out, and is eager to try it.

  • I will release Assignment 2 for you to start by sunday
  • Once in the class, while the lecturer is getting ready and/or waiting for everyone to get settled in Michael gets out his phone and connects to the session with the zoom users. He can already see what they are saying in the chat.
  • Michael asks a follow-up question
  • How much of our grade is the assignment worth?
  • It hasn't been long since the lecture has started before one of the online students asks a question. Normally Michael wouldn't know about this, unless the lecturer rephrases the question for everyone to hear, but Michael noticed the question in the chat even before the lecturer did.
  • Michaels question is answered
  • Yes, you are correct, Assignment 2 is worth 20% of your grade
  • The lecturer answers the question with speed and efficiency, because she doesn't have to worry about rephrasing the question for everyone to hear, because everyone is linked up through the app and all she must do is speak into the microphone.#160;#160;

  • Michael heard the answer to the question but wants clarification. Because he could also see the question that was originally asked, he knows exactly what to ask and what information he needs. Michael asks the question in the classroom while also speaking into his phone's microphone.
  • One of the online student gives an answer by speaking into the microphone and all students can hear it through their phones. The lecturer hears both Michael and the other student and confirms the answer is correct. Michael is very satisfied with the answer and how easy it is to communicate and view messages within the class.
