- hello! today i am going to talk about afrocolombianism and some of its contributions.
- As many already know, Afro-Colombians are descendants of Africans brought to our territory as slaves.
- We won our freedom in 1851 after the abolition of slavery in Colombia.
- In Colombia, two of its linguistic elements are maintained, the Creole language spoken in San Andres and the Palenquera language spoken in San Basilio de Palenque.
- The Afro-Colombian oral tradition and literary works are nothing more than the ancestral legacy of the memories of Africa, when the sacred and profane voice of the enslaved dialogued with the indigenous and European languages in Cartagena de Indias.
- Afro-Colombians celebrated their rites on the day off given to them by their masters, making fun of them and making representations of them.
- Among the typical Afro-Colombian dishes we can find: Piquillo peppers stuffed with seafood: it is an exquisite dish composed of mussels
