Hello Students, Today in science we will learn a little bit about cells and theirs background
2. Great Question Thomas. Robert Hooke made the microscope. This caused lots of new discoveries in cells. After more research, this led to the Classical cell theory
1. How was the microscope discovered?
In 1839 Theodor Schwann from Germany proposed the Classical Cell theory. This theory states that cells are the basic unit of all animal structures.
Matthias Schleiden proposed that cells are the basic unit of all plant cells. He discovered this by looking at cells through a microscope like the ones you have in front of you. He then compared his results with Schwann's results and they both discovered that cells are the basic unit of all living things
Cells come from other cells. We know this because of Rudolph Virchow. Rudolph was just studying with a microscope when he noticed that cells were making other cells. from there he concluded that cells just divide into even more cells
One day a man by the name of Robert Brown was studying the fertilization among the cells under a microscope. This is when he noticed a non transparent in the cell. This opaque area was later named the nucleus. Discovering the nucleus made all of the cell theories add up.
