- It was a humid summer evening in the middle of July. My hunger had woken me up from my slumber. I was starving. I needed to feed.
- So I flew into town, but when I arrived something felt different. The town was empty. How strange, I wondered. Where did everyone go?
- So I flew all through the small and now empty town. There was still no one to be found. My hunger was growing stronger and stronger. I was becoming impatient.
- Oh no! My existencehad become known to the townspeople. I needed to fly away, but I was weak from a lack of food. I needed blood fast, but there was no one in sight.
- EMERGENCY! A VAMPIRE HAS BEEN DISCOVERED LOCK UP YOUR HOMES AND SHOPS. LEAVE TOWN IMMEDIATELY.
- She ran to give me a hug. My goodness you look awfully ill, Charlotte told me. I'm fine, I replied. She warned me about the news of the vampire and I tried my best to act surprised. I have been looking everywhere for you! I refused to leave town without you, said Charlotte.
- I continued to search for food. My head was aching, my vision was blurry, and I could barely stand. I needed blood or else I would die.That's when I ran into my human best friend, Charlotte. I had never revealed my true identity to her. What was she still doing in town?
- From a distance I could see the townspeople walking towards us with their pitchforks. Were my 564 years on this earth truly coming to an end? No this can't be my fate. My life is at stake. In that moment I had two options. One, let the humans capture and kill me or two kill my bestfriend and drink her blood in order to fly away ultimately saving myself. Either I die or Charlotte dies.
