And here comes the good part: The sport! From our long and bitter rivalry with Australia, the sports field is seen as a sign of retribution between the two countries. But I’m afraid to say that we Kiwis have won that as well! From our rugby team winning 3 world cups, and being world number one’s for who knows, or our impressive America’s cup record of 4 wins, to Australia's lousy 1, New Zealand has shown its dominance in the sport’s field, and how not even our biggest rivals can stop us.
The flags of New Zealand and Australia are very similar. They both feature the Union Jack to symbolise their part in the Commonwealth. They also both feature the Southern cross, to symbolise their location in the Southern hemisphere. However, the Australian flag contains 2 extra stars, one star that can be faintly seen in the southern cross constellation, and another below the Union Jack that has seven points that symbolise the six states of Australia, with the last point added later to symbolise the territories. As you can see, Australia is clearly copying the New Zealand flag. The New Zealand flag is obviously superior because we have actually tried to make the flag appealing to the eye, nobody wants to look at the bland white stars of Australia when the glorious red stars of the New Zealand flag exist.

So, as you can very easily see, even though New Zealand may be 5 times smaller in population than Australia, from our sheer resilience and bravery, we have dominated the Aussies in every single part of our long rivalry. At this point, is it really even a rivalry if New Zealand is this much better than Australia?
