Long, long ago in Greece, there was a man named Orpheus, who played an excellent lyre. His music was amazing. Orpheus and his lyre made everyone and everything really happy. And there was one person who made Orpheus really happy; her name was Eurydice his wife.

One day Eurydice was out playing in the woods when she was bitten by a snake. Eurydice died. When Orpheus heard the news, he decided to go to the underworld and bring her back.

After walking through a long tunnel, he found the boat man who ferried the dead across the river. Orpheus then took out his lyre and began playing. He liked the music so much that he ferried Orpheus across the river.

So, Orpheus next met Cerbus a 3 headed dog. He was fierce until Orpheus played his lyre and he fell to sleep.

Orpheus finally made it to Hades and begged for his wife back and played his lyer to him and Hades agreed.

Just before he walked out of the tunnel he looked back and Euridice was dragged back to the underworld and lost to him fore the rest of his life on earth.
