- The winter at valley forge was cold and harsh.But the soldiers had houses .The winter brought a lot of surprises.They had to live there so the British didn't take Philadelphia.

- George Washington's Quarters
- Washington had a brick hut to live in.The house would be used for meetings.This house had slaves,and other military leaders living in it.the house has three story's in it.

- Soldiers Quarters
- The solders were different they had wood huts.The huts could have been made in a week and they had wood chimneys.They are almost the same to a cabin today.

- Problems Faced by the Soldiers #1
- They solders had many problems.one being the lack of food the food was scarce but they could get it.They would survive on fire cake which is water and flour over a fire.The soldiers would go forage for berries and wild animals for food.

- Another problem was sickness.The flu,typhus,and typhoid were spread through the troops.The sicknesses were eventually contained.The common misconception is the soldiers didn't have clothing but they did,some were fully dressed in uniform.

- The training thought normal people how to be leaders and soldiers.From men who could barely punch to soldiers who could stand up against the British army.
