- A long, long time ago, when the world was new, a boy named Orpheus was sitting near a river, thinking about all the animals he had killed today and how proud his mother would be when she saw everything he brought home for Orpheus was the best archer in all his town.
- Rising Action - Conflict continues to develop
- When Orpheus got home he showed his mother what he brought home and went up to his room. He thought about how good at archery he was. He thought about his dad, Apollo, the god of archery. He thought that he was tons better at archery than Apollo.
- Climax - Turning point
- Hades, end this madness or else Apollo and Orpheus will destroy all of Earth!
- The next day when Orpheus went out hunting, he once again shot many, many animals. But, however, this time he just left the animals on the ground where he killed them.
- Resolution - The end
- Way up in Mount Olympus, Apollo saw this and was not happy. He was so furious that since he was also the god of the sun, he could control fire and so he made the volcano on Orpheus´s island erupt even though Orpheus is his son. This is because Hades had put a spell on both Apollo and Orpheus. He had planned all of this! And so the volcano erupted, destroying Orpheus´s town. But he was in the forest so he was not killed. When he got back, there was a bird holding a letter in its beak. The letter was from his father, Apollo. It said that if you dare do this again I will command the volcano to erupt again!
- Orpheus was devastated but also super mad at Apollo. He still thought he was better than Apollo at hunting. So once again, he killed many animals and then just left them there but this time he killed even more animals. Then Apollo made the volcano erupt and now little was left of Orpheus´s island. Zeus,the chief god, saw all of this unfold and took care of business. He commanded Hades to undo the spell he had put on Apollo and Orpheus.
- Oh fine! I´ll undo the spell
- And so, Hades undid the spell, and Apollo and Orpheus apologized to each other as a father and son. Even though Apollo and Orpheus wept for their family who were lost because of the volcano, they knew it wasn't their fault. In an effort to cheer up Apollo that went wrong, Orpheus told Zeus to turn him into a constellation so that whenever Apollo saw it he would honor his son. Zeus did it but it didn't have the right effect on Apollo. Instead of looking at the constellation and honoring it, Apollo looked at it and cried. And that is why, every time a volcano erupts, it's because Apollo has looked at his son's constellation and sobbed.
