- Hey Caroline, did you want to go to the Outsidelands music festival with me this October?
- I want to go so badly, but my friend recently got covid from a music festival and brought it back home with him. Luckily he is fine now but unfortunately, his father caught Covid from him and is now hospitalized in a coma.
- Oh my gosh that is absolutely terrible, I couldn't even imagine the devastation and guilt your friend is going through.
- Yeah its so unbelievably tragic. When I found that out, it made me feel scared and uncomfortable at the thought of going to a music festival because I wouldn't want that to happen to my family and I.
- Yeah same here, now I feel scared going to a festival, I wouldn't want that to happen to any of our families. That's the last thing that I want to happen.
- Glad we are on the same page about this. Hearing that story hit too close to home for me, so I think it's best that we sit this one out.
- Proof of Pathos This is an example of Pathos because the listener, who is my friend, let her emotions of the hospitalization affect her decision of committing to a music festival. Her guilt and empathy towards the situation persuaded her decision on not going.
