- Antibodies are large, y-shaped proteins used by the immune system to identify and neutralise foreign objects such as pathogenic viruses.

- Pathogens are organisms which produce toxins which flow around our bloodstream. Pathogens like to sit in our bloodstreams and feed off the nutrients and good things around our body. They sit in the bloodstream and reproduce.

- The pathogen has now been eaten, digested and destroyed
- The Phagocyte is opening it's membrane ready to engulf the pathogen
- The pathogen is coming close to the Phagocyte
- An antigen is any substance that causes your immune system to produce antibodies against it. This means your immune system does not recognize the substance, and is trying to fight it off. An antigen may be a substance from the environment, such as chemicals, bacteria, viruses, or pollen.
- Antitoxin, antibody, formed in the body by the introduction of a bacterial poison, or toxin, and capable of neutralizing the toxin. People who have recovered from bacterial illnesses often develop specific antitoxins that confer immunity against recurrence.
