- Once upon a time there was disorder in France. And to keep people safe a committee was organized.
- We are the committee of public safety. Our goal is to protect France from both internal and external threats.
- I am Maximilien Robespierre, a lawyer, and a politician.
- You are elected as the leader of the committee of public safety.
- On a foggy morning in January 1793 Louis XVI, the king of France, was executed as a traitor.
- "Frenchman, I die innocent. I pardon the authors of my death..."
- Kill the traitor!
- And just like that, Maximilien Robespierre had his power in place. A power derived from fear, hence named: "The Reign Of Terror".
- Is anyone else here a counterrevolutionary? Maybe you?

- Who have we let to become a leader!? I am tired of this bloodshed.
- He is an incorruptible tyrant, we can not control him. He might turn against us.

- The public was weary of constant terror so the Convention, the government of France during the revolution, decided to act. On the night of July 27, 1794, Robespierre was arrested and then executed.
- During the reign of terror about 17,000 citizens were executed. Many were falsely accused, some were victims of mistaken identity.
