- Tenali rama was a witty courtier of king krishna deve raya of vijay nagar. His friends would advise him to take care of the valuables given by the king because there were too many robers in the nearby town and it would be a matter of time before they enter.
- '' i think the treasures will be there for life long and its too heavy so lets both dive in and get the trunk.....'' Said one thief.
- But , tenali rama would smile as if he already had a plan to save his valuables given by the king.....
- That night after meeting all his friends , When he was returning to his house he saw that there were theives waiting for the right time to get inside and rob tenali rama. Tenali rama slowly went to his house and signalled his wife to stay quiet.
- Suddenly he spoke in a loud voice, '' I have heard that there are many theives in the nearby town. I am glad that all the valuables that the the king gave is inside the well, no one can even geuss our posessions.''
- '' Yes , yes that is a brilliant idea'', Said his wife. Then they pretended to be asleep and they even started snoring. On hering them snore, the two thieves tiptoed to the well and started drawing water from the well because there was too much water in the well
- ''Really!! Ok lets both dive in and get the tresures.'' Said the other thief. And they both started drawing water from the well. They did not see that tenali rama was digging a hole for the plants and went back home.
- Trunk
- They finally managed to open the trunk. To their horror and dismay , the trunk was full of clothes and old vessels. Then they found out that they have been outsmarted by the witty rama. Just then they heard a voice. To their surprise it was tenali rama himself.
- Then the thieves asked for forgiveness to tenali rama. '' We are sorry , we wont rob anyone ever again '' said the thieves . Then tenali rama let them go.
- ''Hey dear fellows , just 2 more plants need to be watered, quick its close to dawn. Make it quick..''
