- The boy learns that his friend is in the hospital because he has asthma and is really sick from the swine flu. He learns that he could have put all the other kids under 5 and their families (pregnant women, babies, and people over 65 years old) at risk because he was not vaccinated and did not stay at home to recover. The lack of preventative measures will be emphasized.
- People are lining up to get their flu vaccinations after the swine flu outbreak in the boy's elementary school. We will display statistic: theCDC estimates that from 2009 to 2018, the swine flu has caused 100.5 million illnesses, 936K hospitalizations, and 75K deaths.
- The boy is now getting vaccinated for the flu every year. Our call to action is for people to get their flu vaccines, wash their hands, cover their coughs/sneezes and stay at home and rest when they're sick!
