- In the morning, Frair Lawrence is filling a basket with poisinous plants. Romeo greets him and tells him about his new love interest, rich Capulets daughter. Frair Lawrence is suprised about Romeo's love interest changing so drastically but agrees to help him with his marriage as it could bring peace between the Capulet's and Montague's
- In one respect I'll thy assistant be, For this alliance may be so happy prove to turn your households' rancor to pure love.

- Mercutio and Benvolio wonder what happend to Romeo and talk about the letter sent by Tybalt challenging Romeo to a duel. Romeo arrives and the two start teasing him with Romeo playing along.
