Did you know that their are two different types of cells?1. Prokaryotic2. EukaryoticProkaryotes don't have a nucleus, while Eukaryotes do.
Did you know about the Endosymbiotc Theory?
Some other differences are:Eukaryotic cells have a membrane bound nucleus and prokaryotes do not. Prokaryotic cells are unicellular, and Eukaryotic cells are multicellular.
It says that to get from prokaryotic cells to eukaryotic cells, the Prokaryotes are engulfed in another prokaryotic cell, and over billions of years of living together, they became an organelle.
Woah, that's crazy.
The theory states that some of the organelles and eukaryotic cells were once prokaryotic microbes. There's even evidence to support it!
Cool.
The first is: Chloroplasts and mitochondria are about the same size as prokaryotic bacteria! The second is: They both reproduce by binary fission! The third is: They have their own circular DNA called plasmid! The fourth is: They have their own ribosomes, like bacteria! The fifth is: They have a double membrane, just like bacteria!
Wow! I never knew that!
I guess we both learned something today!
